2 Down.....1 to go
Today was a happy and sad day. Happy because I found 2 wonderful families who bought 2 of the babies. Sad because they are gone. But I stll have Vern. His eyes are great but his glands are still swollen. I take him back to the vet on Wednesday. He is happy, not in any pain, but he looks soooo funny.

Vern is spunky again
What a great morning. Last night I gave Vern his 1/4 steroid pill, and this morning his eyes werent goopy, he was fiesty, and lots of the swelling is down. So it is now 1/4 of a pill twice a day for a week. Hopefully it won't be that long. I hate seeing a sick puppy.

The Joys of Babies
OK so Sassy's babies are a little late leaving the nest. We'll blame the weather. But last week, the one that we call Vern or Wishbone (he has a v on his head that is white) had a yucky eye. Took him to the vet and she said he might have gotten bit on his eyelid by another puppy when they were playing...so she gave me medicine that smells like bubblegum and sent me home. He loves it!!! I was back to the vet 2 days later. His other eye was huge now too, and his glands on the sides of his neck were enlarged. So now the thought is that his immune system is going whacko. I have to put very warm compresses on his eyes several times a day, continue the medicine and start a steroid on Wednesday. He is so darn cute, I hate to see him sick. This is the first puppy that has been sick.

Needles and bad smells
Today the girls, Molly and Sassy went to get their Rabies shots. As I pulled into the parking spot, both girls were excited to get out. Sassy was on a leash, and Molly in my arms. I pulled the door open, and there was no way Sassy was going in there. I'm sure she could smell the other animals there for shots too. Molly didn't have any choice, cause I was holding her. Molly was her usual shy self, Sassy didn't like the 2 cats behind us and let them know about it. The 2 huge Great Danes in front of us kept smelling the girls and wanting to play. Everyone did good with the shots........except the little "taco bell dog" and she let out a huge, long cry. Baby. We got back home and everyone is happy again.

Just trying again....more cute puppies
Everything Takes Time
Ok....so I might not be so patient. Heather was helping me set up this blog (she was actually doing it while I looked over her shoulder). Time ran out and we figured we'd do more later. I guess I must "go to her blog class" soon. I will now try to add a picture. Cross your fingers. Ok, I loaded a picture...but I don't remember which puppy this one was, but he was cute. Off to class.

Fenway
This is a picture of my Fenway and Sassy. Fenway was Jeffy and Lynn's dog...well kind of. She always lived with us, but she was definately "their dog". Fenway died about 6 weeks ago. We miss her sooo much. She was full of life. She loved to go in the car, and she was at the door as soon as she heard the keys. She loved to get as close to the front car window as possible. We called her "The Hood Ornament". She loved to go to the pond and chase the ducks, but she usually jumped in after them, requiring a bath when we got home, 'cause the pond water stinks so bad. We miss her hugs she always gave us...we miss her "butt slamming" the other dogs. Fenway was a really fast runner. She could run like the wind. She also loved to go camping with Lynn and Jeffy, and also go to softball games with them. She had several "sleep overs" at their appartment before they moved to Tennessee. Fenway was the outgoing one of the 3 weiners. She would get Sassy and Molly in the chase mode, and they would run around the house, sliding on the rugs, and bouncing off the furniture. We really miss Fenway. Her AKC name was : Having a Ball With Fenway.
